Hatha yoga is a form of yoga that focuses on physical postures (asanas) and breathing techniques (pranayama) to achieve balance and strength in the body. It is one of the most popular forms of yoga, and is often considered a “gentle” form of yoga, making it suitable for beginners. Hatha yoga can help improve flexibility, balance, and core strength, as well as reduce stress and tension in the body. At an academic setting such as a college or university, hatha yoga classes may be offered as a form of physical exercise and stress relief for students, faculty and staff. Additionally, the mindfulness and breathing techniques learned in a Hatha yoga class may also benefit individuals in their studies and professional life.
Yoga is not about self-improvement, it’s about self-acceptance. – Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa
